If you suspect that you or someone close to you may have agoraphobia, these are the questions that should be asked :
- Do you worry about what might happen if you suddenly feel anxious or panicky in a place or situation from which it would be difficult or embarrassing to leave?
- Do you worry about fainting, experiencing a sudden attack of diarrhea, or developing other embarrassing symptoms when you are in such settings?
- Do particular places, such as bridges or elevators, or certain situations, such as being in a shopping mall or attending a concert make you anxious?
- Do you avoid certain places or certain things because they make you anxious?
- If you can not avoid such places and situations, do you feel extremely anxious or upset while you’re in them? Can you endure them only with someone you trust?
