If you suspect that you or someone close to you may be experiencing Mania or Hypomania, these are the questions to ask:
- Do you or does the other person feel or seem different-happier than usual, more talkative, more irritable? Has this change lasted for a week or more?
- Are ideas and plans unrealistic and grandiose?
- Has the need for sleep markedly diminished?
- Has speech become more rapid?
- Is there a tendency to jump from one idea to another?
- Is there increased distractibility?
- Is there a pattern of throwing oneself into work projects, social engagements, or otheractivities?
- Is there an increase in restlessness or agitation?
- Have there been imprudent at work or school fallen off?
- Has recent behavior affected relationship or social activities?
